This week I'm feeling a bit more cutesy than usual. Kit Lane is a wool needle felter who creates sculptures of oddly adorable critters and their "Strangeland" homes. Little Peas sit atop a felted wonderland of pink mushrooms and candy-like pinheads that flourish from a creature's skull. There is such an overall sugary delightful air about her pieces that the gumdrop felt-critters and dead animals remains exist in perfect creepy-cute harmony.

Thanks for your kind words on my blog, I've just had a quick browse of yours and I gotta say I'm in love with it! I agree with you wholeheartedly on the lack of inspiring and unusual blogs, but your blog definitely has no shortage of both! I can only dream of owning as many gorgeous oddities as you, that's one of the reasons I wish I lived in America, there are so many more places to go to find these hidden treasures that are rare to come by here in the UK! I'm especially jealous of your bone collection! I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts! Consider yourself followed!
ReplyDeleteWell, these wool felted sculptures are certainly unique. What a combination of elements! I wouldn't say they are my cup of tea aesthetically, but I do find them fascinating curiosities. In fact, I'm finding it hard to stop staring at them and analyzing. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome! MUST HAVE SOME IN MY HOUSE. :]
