Shortly after posting Tuesday’s whiny entry about my insecurities and hyper-awareness of other people’s opinions, I just so happened to stumble upon this article in a random browse through Twitter (something I almost never bother with). Fellow photog, Chase Jarvis, linked to this post by NY Times best-selling author, Julien Smith, eloquently titled The Complete Guide to Not Giving a F*ck.
Every word of this post was the swift kick in the ass I’ve been desperately needing. If you’re like me, and have been letting petty insecurities stifle your flow, give this article a good read. I’ve highlighted my favorite points below:
Fact Number 1 // People are judging you right now. There’s nothing you can do about it, so get over it.
Fact Number 2 // You don’t need everyone to like you. The world doesn’t end when people don’t like you, so move on.
Fact Number 3 // It’s your people that matter. Focus on the friends and family that are important.
Fact Number 4 // Those who don’t give a f*ck change the world. The rest do not.
